Role of Women in Nation Building
“Women
are the real architects of the society” - Harriet Beecher Stowe.
The
success of any nation lies in the embodiment of justice where every
role played by every individual is mutually acknowledged and
respected.
Women
have always played a vital role in human development and for the
betterment of any nation, however their role has largely been unsung
and unrecognized. In very few cultures, until relatively recently,
have women been acknowledged as having an equal role with men, and as
having equal rights to participate in all social spheres.
From
times immemorial, women have played a significant role in
establishing an empires of peace, tolerance and endearment from
within their wombs. However during the modern era, they have been
reduced to a commodity to be played and used for all the immoral
actions of mankind. Women too have steeped and degenerated from their
high ground so much so that they really forgot their status and
potentials. They got blinded by the shallow materialism and hollow
consumerist culture. Ignorance led them to the dark towers of money
grubbing factories, where they totally got burdened with fiscal
responsibilities with no way out of it. Stuck in remorse they got
blinded with a false notion that they found their empowerment and
freedom.
A
nation will reach its zenith and prosperity when its women power
contribute to its healthy development. Certainly a nation’s
development lies in the contribution of both men and women. However
in many third world countries women are still considered incapable
and lacks potentials to support the national cause. she still seen as
vulnerable being who can be toiled and played upon the whims and
fantasies of a man.
However
due to rapid globalization, women have undoubtedly proved their worth
in various sectors. They have shown the world that they can be great
office bearers to sportswomen to CEO and much more. She has become
everything that the world thought incapable of her. She is in every
field actively persuading her stance and rightfully owning what is
hers.
There’s
no doubt that this culture of globalization has borne many fruits to
the national development, but the sad fact to recount is that women
in the race towards equality and productivity sacrificed their
familial responsibilities and handed over their children to the hands
of institutions and maids. This has unfortunately caused a great
downfall not only In child's development but also costed their peace
of mind. The mixing of the two sexes and increase of rapid sexual
culture brought in to existence the unbearable sexual harassment.
Every report of the news contains abuse and violations of women
rights. There is no end to the chapter of harassment and brutality.
To
bring a drastic end to this unruly assault in the name of modernity
and commercialization, women should march on the roads which will
empower them in the truest sense. Where they are recognized as active
nation builders and active participants in making this world a better
place to inhabit.
For
a nation to march on the roads of development, women should come out
in defiance of their rights and fight the prevalent and ever
increasing national evils and oppose it in the strongest terms
possible. A society which is productive and fruitful, utilizes its
women resource in the most appealing a manner and a useful way.
Role
of women in nation building does not imply that women should take the
entire responsibility to take the nation forward and that they have
this ultimate goal to achieve it. Neither is it a matter of pride and
egoism that women in hatred to their male counterparts take this as
challenge to make their nation a better one. True feminism is not
about preaching that women hate and spread venom against the men of
their societies, neither is it a game of competition where women need
to put behind men in the race of equality.. Empowerment lies in
joining hands together, walking in harmonious camaraderie, both men
and women strive to achieve their respective goals and acknowledge
their respective roles and responsibilities. Its a mark of true
humanity to identity and empathize with every individual irrespective
of their gender and applaud every role for its unique nature.
Its
an obligation of every individual to spare no effort in making their
nation a place to live where there exists difference of opinions but
clemency prevails. Where every woman and man set an explain to their
future inhabitants to be more in control of their responsibilities
and be arbitrators of promoting equality and justice. Its a role of
every woman to be in charge of her duties without being negligent of
any, while its a duty of every man to be more respectful and
encouraging and supportive in every activity ranging from familial to
social, economic and financial ones. Only if this state is reached is
when the smallest unit of society, “Family” will be more happier,
enriching and peaceful, further contributing to better societies and
productive nations.
