When Breathe Becomes Air- A Review

“I began to realize that coming in such close contact with my own mortality had changed both nothing and everything. Before my cancer was diagnosed, I knew that someday I would die, but I didn’t know when. After the diagnosis, I knew that someday I would die, but I didn’t know when. But now I knew it acutely. The problem wasn’t really a scientific one. The fact of death is unsettling. Yet there is no other way to live.”  ―  Paul Kalanithi , When Breath Becomes Air Pondering and reflecting on this book, a deep sense of  void grips your heart. It feels how fragile and brittle life is. Life knows exactly where to knock us down and when to lift us up. Life slaps us right in the face when we have climbed to the zenith of our prosperous moments. Nothing can be said about how quick is the passing of time and how the strikes of calamities can fall anywhere, anyhow and anytime. One Day If We Part

One day if we part One day while we walk, the aisle of our life If we fell and broke and stood and cried One day if change our ways And find ourselves lost,     Wen one day we no longer stay And tread on the paths so strange and stale Lets walk the path with a smile And so shall v smile till we reach a mile And when its time for us to go, Lets part with a humble heart and a heavy soul With silent songs of tears and a happy sad song Lets sing the praises of the other And embrace them with warmth and grace And when we move on, lets end it on a good note So one day when we part, lets always part with beaming smiles and teary eyes. And one day if we shall part, lets leave with boundless love in our hearts!  💗 - Sufiya Tazeen.

However during the modern era, they have been reduced to a commodity to be played and used for all the immoral actions of mankind. Women too have steeped and degenerated from their high ground so much so that they really forgot their status and potentials. They got blinded by th...

Happiness, a Source-Less Entity

Image
Our notions about happiness entrap us. We forget that they are just ideas. Our idea of happiness can prevent us from actually being happy. We fail to see the opportunity for joy that is right in front of us when we are caught in a belief that happiness should take a particular form.” – Thich Nhat Hanh Happiness is a feeling of being contended when life is in a constant process of satisfying our needs. It is happiness which fills our empty lives with its fragrance and outshining our souls with its melody. As humans, we all strive for happiness. While some look for it in gaining materialistic goods, some others seek it by dwelling in the deep corners of the earth. And many others validate it on getting a perfect partner, outstanding marks and immeasurable degrees and qualifications. It is ingrained in the human nature that to gain something we need to look for it far and wide, by slugging for it day and night. Sometimes, some things in life are just an arm’s length all we ne...
